Para Hockey is an adaptation of hockey designed for players who have a physical disability. In Hamburg Para Hockey was invented the first time in 1991 in an initative between Lebenshilfe Hamburg and the Club an der Alster, played under similar rules to standard hockey. The initiator and patron is hockey legend Greta Blunck (former coach of the women's national hockey team), who, together with Sven Neuwerk, accompanies the team as a coaching team.
